Banter Board customisation

Renaming the Banter Board

If “Banter Board” doesn’t fit your organisation’s culture, rename it:

1. Go to Admin → Competitions → [Competition] → Banter Board → Settings
2. Set a custom name (e.g. “The Chat”, “Talk Trash”, “Round Review”, “The Forum”)
3. Save

The custom name appears in the nav, on the page, and in email notifications.

Community rules

Add a community rules statement that appears at the top of the Banter Board:

1. Go to Admin → Banter Board → Settings → Community rules
2. Write your rules (plain text or basic markdown)
3. Save

Example rules:

• Keep it friendly — banter is fine, abuse is not
• No spoilers for games that haven’t been scored yet
• Respect all participants regardless of their leaderboard position

Character limit

The default maximum post length is 500 characters. Adjust in Settings → Max post length (100–1000 characters).

Reactions

Enable or disable emoji reactions on posts in Settings → Reactions. If enabled, choose which emoji set participants can use:

• Default — 👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 🔥
• Sports — 🏆 💪 😤 🎯 📣 🤦
• Custom — upload up to 6 emoji

Post visibility after season ends

When a competition ends, the Banter Board content is archived. You can choose to:

• Keep visible — participants can still read posts (read-only)
• Archive — posts hidden from participants, accessible to admins only
• Delete — all posts permanently removed 30 days after season end

Configure in Settings → Post-season behaviour.

Tip

A pinned post from the hub admin at the start of the season sets the tone — introduce yourself, lay out the ground rules with some warmth, and let participants know you’re watching (in a good way). It dramatically reduces the chance of moderation problems later.
