Custom sports
Custom sports let you run tipping competitions for any sport, league, or event that isn’t in Fanzava’s built-in data feed — or for non-sport events entirely.
When to use custom sports
Section titled “When to use custom sports”Use custom sports when you want to run tipping for:
- A local or amateur league not covered by the data feed
- A sport in a country/division not yet integrated (e.g. A-League, Super Rugby)
- Non-sport events like the Oscars, reality TV finales, or political elections
- An internal company competition with custom matchups
Setting up a custom sport
Section titled “Setting up a custom sport”- Go to Admin → Competition → New competition
- Choose Custom sport as the sport type
- Name your sport/league
- Set the scoring unit (e.g. “goals”, “points”, “runs”) for margin prediction display
Creating fixtures manually
Section titled “Creating fixtures manually”With a custom sport, you enter fixtures by hand:
- Go to Admin → Competition → Rounds → Add round
- Click Add fixture
- Enter Team A, Team B, fixture name, date, and start time
- Save
You can bulk-add fixtures by uploading a CSV with columns: round, team_a, team_b, date, time.
Entering results manually
Section titled “Entering results manually”Results don’t come in automatically for custom sports. After a fixture concludes:
- Go to Admin → Competition → Rounds → [Round]
- Click the fixture
- Enter the result (winning team, score if using margin prediction)
- Click Confirm result
Fanzava scores the round and updates the leaderboard as you confirm each result.
Manual fixture entry for live sports
Section titled “Manual fixture entry for live sports”If a supported sport has a schedule change or an unlisted fixture, you can also add individual manual fixtures to a live-data competition. See Manual fixture entry.
