Group prizes
Group prizes are awarded to the members of the top-ranking group on a group leaderboard, rather than to individual participants.
When to use group prizes
Section titled “When to use group prizes”Group prizes work well for:
- Corporate competitions where departments or teams compete
- Franchise networks where regional offices are pitted against each other
- Any competition where you want to incentivise collective performance
A group prize creates team dynamics — members encourage each other to tip, because their individual performance affects the group’s standing.

Ranking methods
Section titled “Ranking methods”| Method | Description | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Average score (recommended) | Group’s average points per member | Groups of different sizes |
| Total score | Sum of all group members’ points | Groups of equal size |
| Participation rate | % of group members who tipped each round | Driving submission rate |
Average score is recommended when groups have different sizes — it prevents large groups from having an inherent advantage.

- Send a congratulations email to all members of the winning group
- Post an announcement on the Banter Board
