Inter-group rivalries
Inter-group rivalries let you pit two groups against each other directly. Instead of competing on the hub-wide leaderboard, a rivalry tracks which group is collectively outperforming the other — creating a team dynamic on top of the individual competition.
How rivalries work
Section titled “How rivalries work”A rivalry compares the average score of all members in each group, updated after each round. The group with the higher average is “winning” the rivalry.
This levels the playing field between groups of different sizes — a 5-person team competes fairly against a 50-person team because only the average matters.
Setting up a rivalry
Section titled “Setting up a rivalry”- Go to Admin → Groups → Rivalries → New rivalry
- Select two groups to pit against each other
- Give the rivalry a name (e.g. “Engineering vs Marketing”, “Sydney vs Melbourne”)
- Choose a display option:
- Show in hub — appears on the rivalry leaderboard page visible to all participants
- Admin only — only visible in the admin dashboard
- Save
Rivalry notifications
Section titled “Rivalry notifications”Enable email notifications for rival groups:
- Round update — after each round, both groups see a “You’re ahead / behind by X points” update
- Lead change — notify both groups when the lead switches hands
- Final result — end-of-season rivalry summary
Configure in Admin → Emails → Rivalry notifications.
Multiple rivalries
Section titled “Multiple rivalries”You can set up multiple rivalries simultaneously. Groups can participate in more than one rivalry.
