Scoring
Fanzava’s scoring system is configurable per competition. You can use the defaults or tune scoring to match your organisation’s culture.
Default scoring
Section titled “Default scoring”By default, each correct tip earns 1 point. Incorrect tips earn 0. There are no negative points for wrong picks.
Weighted fixtures
Section titled “Weighted fixtures”You can mark individual fixtures as worth more points — useful for finals, derbies, or marquee games:
- Go to Admin → Competition → Rounds
- Click a fixture
- Set Point value (e.g. 2 for a final, 1.5 for a derby)
Weighted fixtures show a badge on the tipping page so participants know which games are worth more.
Joker tips
Section titled “Joker tips”The joker doubles the point value of one tip per round. A participant who uses their joker on a 2-point weighted final gets 4 points for a correct pick.
Enable jokers in Admin → Competition → Settings → Scoring. Participants choose their joker before the round locks.
See Joker tips for the full configuration reference.
Margin prediction
Section titled “Margin prediction”When margin prediction is enabled, participants predict not just the winner but the winning margin. Scoring is based on proximity to the actual margin:
| Distance from margin | Bonus points |
|---|---|
| Exact | +3 |
| Within 6 | +2 |
| Within 12 | +1 |
| Outside 12 | 0 |
Margin prediction can be enabled for all fixtures or for selected fixtures only.
See Margin prediction for full details.
Perfect round bonus
Section titled “Perfect round bonus”Participants who tip every game correctly in a round receive a bonus. Configure the bonus value in Admin → Competition → Settings → Scoring.
The bonus is applied after per-fixture scoring so it doesn’t interact with jokers or weighted games.
See Perfect round bonus for full details.
Viewing the scoring breakdown
Section titled “Viewing the scoring breakdown”Participants can see their scoring breakdown per round in their My tips view. Each fixture shows: tip submitted, result, points earned, and any bonuses applied.
Hub admins can see aggregate scoring data in Admin → Analytics → Scoring breakdown.
